Galaxy needs a forever home and you can help!

Dear Friend

Today we would like to tell you about Galaxy, a beautiful white lion. When Galaxy was just a little older than a cub, he was used in the film industry. As you can imagine the filming process is very stressful and at times traumatic for any animal and Galaxy did not have an easy start to his life.

Thankfully he was rescued by Michele Higginson with his mate, Matilda, and another lioness, Saturn and relocated to a sanctuary. For eleven years the three lived a contented and serene life, with very little interference and happy in their pride.

In the space of two years, Galaxy lost both his mates, Matilda and Saturn, and lost all zest for life. Those of you who have lost someone close to you will understand what Galaxy felt. He became so lonely that he started to chew his tail, and as a result, it had to be amputated. Unfortunately, this has turned into a habit, and he needs special care and more enrichment in his life.

Panthera Africa would love to give Galaxy a forever home where he can live out the rest of his life with the mental and physical stimulation he needs, and the proper medical care. But for this, we need your help.

We have a beautiful enclosure ready for Galaxy with a dedicated team to give him his daily medicines and provide as much enrichment as he needs. But we need your help to make this happen.

Galaxy weighs about 200kg and will need 30kg of food per week. The total monthly food bill is R6,000 a month and his medicines R2,000 a month. We are asking all our friends and supporters to please donate towards Galaxy’s care: a total of R24,000 is needed to cover the first three months.

If you are able, you can adopt Galaxy by making a monthly contribution. You will receive a beautiful certificate that you can print and display.

Dr Brendan Tindall from Robberg Veterinarian Clinic has donated his time, services and resources to do the relocation of Galaxy.

We are almost there and just need a final boost to cover Galaxy’s food and medicines. Our deepest gratitude to you if you are able to adopt or simply share this message with your friends.

Thank you for opening your heart and giving Galaxy the life he deserves.

For more information or if you would like to adopt, please contact Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary directly.
