A whale-of-a-time
Today we experienced a light westerly breeze, but overall lots of sunshine and clear blue skies. We started our “seafari” heading towards Uilenkraalsmond and the shark cage diving boats. The sharks have been a little scarce after the weekend We made our way to Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. Nearby Dyer Island we spotted three African penguins swimming in the direction of the island. Around Geyser Rock we had a great time watching the Cape Fur seals play in the water.
We made our way behind the islands into deeper water and spotted two Southern Right whales close by. After leaving these two animals behind we saw a Bryde’s whale and some more whale activity further off. So we continued moving and found two playful Humpback whales. One whale gave us great show by breaching out of the water and slapping its fluke onto the surface.
What a treat to find three different baleen whale species in one trip, truly magical.
