The inaugural Lomond off-road triathlon was held at the stunning Lomond Wine Estate just outside Gansbaai on the 16th of December. The weather was perfect for the 250 entrants as they enjoyed one of the best outdoor competitive swimming venues in the country while biking and running through the Walkerbay Fynbos Conservancy providing some of the most scenic fynbos views in the Western Cape.
There were athletes from all over the country, including some of the country’s top athletes, which were able to enjoy the day with family and friends. It was a day aimed at families and bringing people together. People relaxed on the lawns with views overlooking the dam and vineyards while enjoying top Lomond wines, live entertainment by Deon Valor and a variety of delicious meals and other drinks for everyone.
Make a note in your diary for December 2018 to experience the next Lomond Triathlon - whether competing or just coming out to enjoy the day. You don’t want to miss it!
