Mind Body Medicine: Healing the Self - 3 Day Retreat

Date: 10 - 13 November 2022

A weekend of exploring new ways to nurture and care for yourself through movement, meditation, creative processing and mind-body medicine, facilitated by Jayne Bullen and Gail Schoeman.

In our time together, held and supported in the magnificent pristine nature of Bodhi Khaya, we will explore several key techniques of Mind-Body Medicine. We harness the power of breath, meditation, engaged movement and creativity in ways that support healing from whatever we are bringing to our journey.

By grounding techniques with engaged creative processes, movement as medicine, and meditation techniques, we explore the immense human potential to overcome obstacles between us and wellness, connection and growth.

Mind Body Medicine is a re-connection of body and mind into a cohesive, integrated system, capable of extraordinary self-healing and change.

This 3-day retreat with Jayne and Gail includes:

• Skills for self-care and self-awareness
• Practices in movement and meditation
• Self-exploration through intuitive art-making and writing

About Mind Body Medicine

Mind-body medicine is based on the scientific understanding of the inextricable connection among our thoughts, sensations and feelings, and our mind, body, and spirit – between ourselves and the social and natural world in which we live. CMBM’s approach to wellness is grounded in practical, evidence-based skills for self-care, nutrition, self-awareness, and group support. Mind-body skills (such as meditation, biofeedback, guided imagery, and self-expression in drawings, words, and pictures) are scientifically validated to reduce stress and restore physical and psychological health. The mind-body approach heals individual trauma and builds community-wide resilience.

About Heart Art

Heart Art practically applies art-making techniques and exercises to cultivate creativity, access intuition, activate right-brain thinking, inspire self-expression, immerse in mindfulness, and return to the beginner’s mind. Creative processes mirror life processes. Life-oriented themes are explored through visualisation, storytelling, writing and intuitive art-making. Heart Art is an outlet to express, reframe, transform and heal. Gain confidence in self-expression, learn to trust your intuitive voice and live a rich, full and creative life.
