There are rather wonderful women throughout the country who knit beanies for babies and children receiving treatment for cancer. The loss of the hair on their heads makes cold, windy days thoroughy miserable and it's never very nice to have people, however kindly meant, looking at the small bald head with pitying eyes.
As the beanies are a gift, it was felt it would be appropriate to package them somehow and that's where we came in with a donation of tissue paper and ninety bags to hold ninety lovingly-knitted beanies for small South Africans at the Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town.
We were so glad to do it, we who have had the luck to be spared tragedy like this. We are so happy to be able to help again in February.
