OPPORTUNITY FOR Hermanus residents to apply for UIF
The Department of Labour's Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) will be hosting a community outreach programme to assist residents from the Greater Hermanus area with UIF APPLICATIONS on 23, 24 and 25 February 2021 at the Overstrand Thusong Service Centre in Hawston. Only UIF applications will be processed.
Free transport will be provided on each of the days for the first 65 people from Mount Pleasant and Zwelihle.
Transport will depart from 08:00 each day and will return at approximately 14:00 or after all 65 passengers have completed their UIF applications.
Please note that free transport is only available to the first 65 people each day. People will only be allowed to make use of the free transport if they have all their required documentation available for UIF applications.
You must have the following documents with you to make use of the free transport:
• UI 2.8 bank verification form (stamped/verified by your bank);
• UI 19 Form completed by your employer;
• Salary analysis form which your employer completed received from your employer;
• Proof of residence;
• Certified copy of Identity Document; and
• Three month bank statement
People making use of their own transport must also bring these documents with to be able to apply for UIF.
Please note that the Department of Labour will visit the other areas in the Overstrand in due course to give more people the opportunity to apply for UIF.
The account verification forms are obtainable from LED offices in Gansbaai, Stanford, Kleinmond, Hawston and Hermanus, and they can also be requested via email (rsalies@overstrand.gov.za).
Remember, these three days will only be dedicated to UIF applications.
There will be, however, a register to write down your complaints and other queries. Officials of the Department of Labour will then contact them at a later stage.
