9 Days to Christmas: Sense of Humour

By now, you might be on your way to the family. Be very sure that the first thing you pack is your sense of humour.

When we can see the humour in life, we disable the stressful situation. Through laughter, we release our happy endorphins. This is how we release pain - emotional pain.

Yes, we have history with our family. Yes, it can be crowded and noisy. Yes, there is always a bossy boots, a victim, a clown, a martyr, a rebel, etc. Let them be; they cannot affect your life unless you invite them in. Just because you have a front door, it does not mean that every person is welcome in your house. The same applies to our emotions. You are the guard, the owner, the king of your mental castle. They can only enter if you allow them to enter.

By the way, good dark chocolate also releases endorphins. Keep some stashed in your room. Also a good comedy or a walk in nature.
