OVERSTRAND LIBRARIES TO REMAIN CLOSED

As per current lockdown Level 3 Advanced stipulations, Overstrand is managed as a hotspot area for COVID-19 infections and all Overstrand public libraries will remain closed until further notice.

We need to continue to minimise movement and interaction, where possible.

Most of the libraries in the Western Cape intend to open their libraries at the end of August or early September.

Overstrand Municipality will re-asses the library situation at the end of 31 July 2020. As soon as an opening date has been confirmed, the municipality will inform residents.

In the meantime, libraries are taking all the necessary steps to ensure the safety of staff when they return, as well as securing library users’ safety when we open our doors.

The public can continue to drop their books and other library materials (sealed in bags with their membership detail) in bins/ boxes placed at entrances to respective libraries.
