Hermanus Traffic Services Update - 20 July 2020

(VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS, DRIVING LICENCE TESTING AND VEHICLE TESTING STATION)

Overstrand Municipality’s Traffic Department is experiencing high volumes of clients, and we appreciate your understanding that we are not operating at full capacity.

Learner and Driver’s Licence

Learners and Driving Licence appointments that expired during lockdown - or about to expire soon - will receive priority (some applicants were already contacted and new dates confirm). No new learners and licence classes will be conducted until further notice.

‘Backlog’ Learners and Driver’s Licence tests will be done on TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS from 08:00 - 15:30 and SATURDAYS from 08:30 - 12:00.

Dealerships

Dealerships will also be assisted on TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS from 08:00 - 15:30 and SATURDAYS from 08:30 - 12:00.

Collections of Driver’s Licence cards and EFT payments

Collection of Driver’s Licence cards and EFT payment to renew driver’s license will be assisted on TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS from 08:00 - 15:30 and SATURDAYS from 08:30 - 12:00.

Renewal of Driver’s Licenses

Renewal of Driver’s Licence and Professional Driver’s Permits (PDP) as well as Registration of licencing of motor vehicle will take place on MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS from 08:00 - 15:30

Motor vehicle registration

Registration of licencing of motor vehicles will be dealt with on TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS from 08:00 - 15:30 and SATURDAYS from 08:30 - 12:00.

Roadworthy tests

The roadworthy testing station is open Mondays - Fridays 08:00 - 15:30 and Saturdays 08:30 - 12:00.

We trust that residents will understand that this situation is beyond our control and that the following working solution is not cast in stone (and subject to change). We would like to ask for the public’s patience during this period. Thank you for your co-operation in this regard.

We are, however, committed to create a safe working environment to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and simultaneously ensure a continuation in service delivery. All precautions have been taken to safeguard the public, but residents must please note that no one will be allowed into the offices without the mandatory face masks. All personal protective equipment, strict hygiene safety protocol and other precautions are in place.
