A group of local residents is putting together a coffee table book about Betty’s Bay. The book will be around 400 pages and will include photographs, maps, aerial views, and botanical drawings.

It will cover a wide range of topics, including:

The history and geography of the area
Local wildlife and plant life
Nature reserves and scenic walks
The Harold Porter Botanical Garden
The old whaling station and shipwrecks
Stories of early families and community life
Voices from across different parts of town
Highlights like the penguin colony, Marine Protected Area, and
Art Route

The team is asking residents to share stories, memories, and photos that reflect life in Betty’s Bay.

Contributions are due by Friday, 23 May 2025.

The book will be bilingual, with some sections in Afrikaans.
