The Whale Festival Strongman Contest Hermanus
Local Strongman Legend Johan Kruger will once again be hosting Sunday’s Whale Festival Strongman Show starting @ 9.30 this Sunday morning. It will be held @ the Amphitheatre on the grass area, above the Old Harbour.
Johan has arranged 4 sets of medals for the following 4 categories:
- Women Open
- Men Masters
- Men Novice &
- Men Open
24 Athletes will compete in these events:
- Log Press
- Trap Bar
- Deadlift
- Farmers Walk/ Yoke Carry
10 Of the athletes are from Proactive Fitness, 7 are from outside of Hermanus, 5 from the Zwe gyms & 2 from Apollo.
In the Novice section, Precious Jambo is one of the favorites after lifting a massive 330kg in training earlier this week! However, the competition is going to be fierce in all the categories as all the lifters have been hitting some very high numbers in training!
Please can I encourage everyone on this group to make an effort to join me on Sunday @ 9:30 to support these amazingly brave & strong athletes. I can assure you that it’s a spectacle of human movement & strength at its finest with plenty of obvious showmanship & pride at stake so it’s not to be missed.
