Overstrand Mayor Lauds 2022 Matrics
Overstrand Executive Mayor, Dr Annelie Rabie, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the class of 2022 for passing their matric examinations.
The Overberg Education District matriculants obtained a pass rate of 84%; 921 learners achieved a bachelor’s pass (41,4%), 633 achieved a diploma pass and 314 achieved a higher certificate pass.
"Well done to the many top achievers from Curro Hermanus, Hawston Secondary School, Northcliff House College, Qhayiya Secondary School, Hermanus High and Gansbaai Academia for your excellent results. We are very proud of you,” Mayor Rabie said.
She encouraged those who did not succeed in these exams, not to give up or quit but rather to “chin up and try again”.
Mayor Rabie also paid tribute to the teachers who put in many hours of work throughout the year to help learners to reach their full potential.
