How do you Describe your Deli?

How do you Describe your Deli?

Dal-Italia Delicatessen

A customer asked, "how do you describe your Deli?" It's a surprisingly difficult answer... there's just so much to it!

A customer was browsing around our shelves, finding the ingredients she needed to make that evening's meal, when she turned and asked, "how do you describe your Deli?".
It got us thinking. It turned out to be a surprisingly difficult question to answer. We started to look through the photo library, trying to find just one that described the concept.
If you had never visited Dal-Italia before and you arrived outside, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a café...

...until you walk into the shop that is, when you are confronted with shelves filled with a whole range of goods, from sweets to truffles (honestly!)
OK, so it's a shop then...!  Well, yes and no. You can certainly buy things and take them home... but then you step a little further and find restaurant-style tables and chairs.

At this point new visitors do look a little confused... and it gets worse. There's a machine over there that obviously makes pasta!  And right next to that, there's a chiller filled with all sorts of things you don't see in other shops. Next to that is another chiller, this one displaying a selection of cheeses... lots of them!
It's at about this time that the visitors begin to read the blackboard about today's specials. These specials look decidedly lunch-ish. Turning around they find more tables, also surrounded with shelves full of products that you don't normally find in local shops. Looking at them closely, the new visitor will find that many of these are imported items; the genuine articles direct from the authenticated manufacturer, definitely not the cheap copies found elsewhere...

On they wander and without fail, stumble across the windows at the back, through which they can see the courtyard.

So here's the thing. Our Deli is a long story. It's everything from a chic street café through to a traditional and authentic delicatessen. It's everything from a place to enjoy a morning coffee through to an exclusive evening dining venue.
It's not easy to describe the Deli in a few words. Really, you just have to visit. Then of course, you can try to describe it to your friends...
