Star Search Overstrand proudly showcases the recipients of its annual youth development program through the arts. This innovative initiative, which began with auditions to discover new artists, has taken the region by storm since its launch last August. Participants have been mentored in both personal and professional development. Creative Skills Factory, The Stanford Festival of Community Arts, and Rockpool Media are thrilled to present Kalfiefees with four special performances. Don’t miss out:

"Star Search" launched in 2023 and exceeded all expectations, evolving into a year-round youth development and mentorship program through the arts. This program is a collaboration between Creative Skills Factory NPC, Rockpool Media, and the Stanford Festival of Community Arts.
From the 2023 auditions, nine Zwelihle performers were selected as core participants in a mentorship program that has been running throughout the past year. These artists include a male acapella group and two solo female singers, who have performed in various paid concerts, including with the Gugulethu Tenors, at the Stanford Christmas Market, and self-organised concerts at local schools. They also graced the FynArts opening ceremonies in June 2024. These young vocalists embody the immense talent within South Africa, and their beautiful voices are sure to leave a lasting impact. The program focuses on their personal growth and entrepreneurial skills.
The culmination of this mentorship will be showcased at the upcoming Kalfiefees with four unforgettable concerts. This is an exciting opportunity for our youth, and we thank the organizers for embracing our local talent. These performances are a must-see for anyone who appreciates the purity of voice and spirit.
We have ambitious plans for the coming year, including new auditions in Hawston and expanding our mentorship program to support 20 aspiring performing artists within the Overstrand region.
