Merry Christmas
The season is here, all the shops are ready for a bumber season, all the eating houses have stocked up and are ready to serve the wonderful tourists. ... but I wonder if anyone can remember when the season was just 2 weeks long? It wasn't that long ago. Every Sunday, every Christmas Day and every News Year's Day the town simply closed down. All the shops and restaurants would close and the streets were deserted. The only life you met at the seafront was a few seagulls. How times have changed ...!
Now we have a thriving tourist town with a season that stretches for most of the year. Everything is open, everyday of the year ... and, if you really want to, you can have Christmas dinner under our trees. Does that sound like a good idea?
To all our regulars and new visitors, have yourself a very Merry Christmas.
