Rotary Club of Stanford - March to June 2024 Newsletter Highlights!
It has been an incredibly busy and rewarding four months for the Rotary Club of Stanford. Seeing the joy and appreciation from the children we've assisted is truly heartwarming. Here are some key highlights from our recent efforts:
School Clothes:
Ensuring children have well-fitting school clothes is essential for their self-esteem and school attendance. Since March, we've provided basic school clothing items to children in need at Die Bron and St. Paul’s schools, including trousers, jerseys, rain jackets, and socks.
Winter Warmth:
Our Winter Warmth project has been a great success, distributing blankets and warm-knitted items to babies, toddlers, children, the elderly, and sick individuals. We've handed out around 230 Stormy blankets and various knitted items, bringing comfort to many during the cold Cape winter.
Penguin Plunge 2024:
We ended our Rotary year with the fun-filled Penguin Plunge event. With great weather, a photo booth, delicious hot soups, fresh bread, hot chocolate, and Gluhwein, the event was a hit. We handed out 81 beaded penguins and enjoyed an amazing spirit of fun and generosity.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated in our projects and events. Your support is invaluable!
