A group of very tidy children greeted Father Christmas at the gate and walked with him to the classroom where they sat in a ring at his feet and waited to hear their names called out so they could fetch their very own present and have a photo taken with Father Christmas by Juffrou Zaan. When everyone had an exciting bag it was time to open them and explore the contents (so generously donated by a lady in Betty's Bay).
Meantime Louise had been busy in the kitchen preparing a special Christmas lunch and with help from the teachers, the tables were arranged so the whole school could sit down together, in the paper hats they had made, to enjoy the meal.
My, did they tuck in! Tannie Louise is a terrific cook and there were roast drumsticks with all the trimmings that special day. The teachers who were watching confessed to being envious.
Some very happy children had spent a red letter day.
