Thank You Joekels Tea
Especially in the winter but the rest of the year too, the children love the mug of Rooibos which Tannie Louise gives them with their breakfast porridge and again with their mid-morning sandwiches. They don’t know how good it is for them, but we do!
With COVID and the money troubles which have hit us all, the children were going to have to go without tea for a while but in an effort to avert this loss we approached Joekels tea, the company which gives us South Africans, Laager Rooibos, Tetley Tea, and Society Coffee Cappuccino.
They helped us once before with great kindness and generosity so we hesitated to ask again. So many South African children are in need of nourishment, one doesn’t want to expect more than one’s share.
How lovely for us and how thrilled we were when the response came immediately that they would be happy to send us tea, Rooibos as well as some of their exciting TEAS4KIDZ - and - no sooner promised than two boxes were delivered to the school. They have an online shop so we didn’t even have to collect it.
If you are wondering - the name of this company ‘Joekels’ derives from the names of the two founders, Joe Swart and Jonathan Kelsey who joined forces in 1994 to start blending tea in Joe’s garage with a second-hand cement mixer. They made it all the way to awards and a wide choice of teas are available throughout South Africa.
It’s South Africans like this and their concern for others who will keep us doing what we do, day by day to care for our children as their parents were not.
PS: Their products are jolly good too.
