School Changes at Pikkewyntjies
In the past, we used to welcome visitors to the school and Louise used to enjoy laying a tea tray and baking cheese scones. It would be reckless to invite anyone now so perhaps it’s not a bad idea to bring some of the changes at the school to you - via photos.
Zaan has finished the mural to welcome the children and staff every morning. The senior class got a makeover when the school was closed due to the covid scare with fresh paint and curtains and a new frieze. The veranda has also been repainted. When it’s raining it provides a breath of fresh air at break time.
The children have got lots better at keeping the school neat and tidy, collecting litter the wind blows against the school fence when they arrive at school, often without being reminded and weeding the paving outside the kitchen area when their teachers point out it needs doing.
... and last time our children brought their excellent reports to show Juffrou Zaan, and almost the best thing of all, the teachers’ comments about the kind of people they are, among them was an unusual report. A hard-working, enthusiastic little chap brought Zaan a report with A’s for every subject. In the picture he is holding a R100 note. This is Zaan’s personal gift in recognition of his effort and dedication.
