Tarchonanthus Littoralis Needed For Strong Winds

Tarchonanthus Littoralis Needed For Strong Winds

Pikkewyntjies / Penguinkidz Pre-School

In Summer time this doesn't matter to anyone except the birds but in Winter when that North Wester gets up speed it spoils playtime. The children can use only half of the playground which is protected by the Tarchonanthus and there's not quite enough room for them all. Besides that riding bikes and playing in the sandpit is no fun when everyone is staggering in the wind.

Problem is the kind donor who gave the school the Tarchonanthus Littoralus plants didn't realise how many would be needed. Only the Littoralis is adapted to coastal conditions and sandy soil.

We aren't asking you spend big bucks buying us a well-grown plant from a nursery (although we'd never say 'no') but we are asking you please to look around your garden and if you have small Tarchonanthus plants growing around your established shrubs to phone us to arrange collection.

If you have green fingers, it would be wonderful if you would plant it too. I know it's a tough shrub but it's moving house and green fingers would make it feel comfy in its new home.

Thank you ever so much!
