The Astro Art Competition

The South African Astronomical Observatory has issued an invitation to all Foundation Phase learners, that is children in Grade R - Grade 3 to enter the Astro Art Competition.

They had to submit an A4 drawing of anything relating to astronomy, for example, the moon with craters, the solar system, the planets or galaxies, the earth or the sun. They could draw, in fact, whatever they think astronomy is.

All the Pikkewyntjies drew the best picture they could but Zaan could only choose two.

Although it was a hard choice we think the two pictures she chose in the end will do Pikkewyntjies proud at the competition.

Please hold thumbs for Allison and Ethan - apart from the prestige of having their art recognised there’s a wonderful prize of R1 500, would you believe.
