Whale Coast Mall Spinathon a Huge Success!

Our Whale Coast Mall Spinathon in support of Hermanus Night Shelter was a huge success!
Proactive Fitness set up our Realryder Spin bikes in the Foodhall and Apollo Fitness set up their Spin bikes outside Dischem. Between us, we covered the whole building with a wonderfully upbeat atmosphere on Saturday morning.

Together we managed to raise a huge amount of money for the Night Shelter which will hopefully keep many local homeless people off the street, fed and warm this winter.

We would like to thank the following people for their huge combined effort to make our Proactive Spinathon such a successful and unforgettable one:

  • Grethe the Whale Coast Mall’s marketing manager for inviting us to set up our spin stand
  • Debbie-Lee and Emmanuel, our two spin instructors who took motivating our many loyal spinners to the next level (along with their speaker volume level, amazing music choreography and combined motivational spirit, they set the tone for a spectacular event)
  • Proactive Staff Members for setting up our massive spin stand by helping me carry heavy bikes to and from the mall! You represent everything important in our business.
  • Proactive Staff Members - who held the fort at work on Saturday! We know how badly you wanted to be at the Spinathon but you kept our business doors open whilst we were at the mall, for which I am most grateful.
  • Nelis Junior and Senior, the owners of Engen, for loaning us a double axle trailer from Sandbaai Trailer Hire, free of charge!
  • Karlie from Revive Active Recovery Centre and Lariza our sports massage therapist from LBB Sport for setting up their stands alongside ours as well as for their huge dance and vocal support
  • Loyal Proactive Fitness Members whose participation in the event made it as spirit-filled as it was (too many of you to mention individually but we know who you are and think you are all rockstars)
  • Dian and Six Participants from Hermanus Round Table for raising about R4,000 for us!
  • Seeff Hermanus for always supporting our Spinathons, your guys and girls were brilliant
  • Jan from Manzi Water for sponsoring our water consumption
  • Dieter and the sound guy John from Function Hire for the super sound system
  • Pierre van Niekerk from “Pierre Photography Passion” for compiling amazing photographic and video footage of our event (a few of his images appear below)
  • All our Spectators, off-duty Proactive Staff Members and Tenants for pitching up to clap and cheer our riders on. You brought your A-game and just about cheered the roof off @ the Whale Coast Mall!

I apologise if I have missed thanking anyone on my extensive list. If I have, please let me know.

A lot of effort from all of us @ Proactive Fitness = a great result for a genuinely great cause @ Hermanus Night Shelter.
