Overcoming Self-Doubt After Narcissistic Abuse

D O U B T - DO Ur Best Today - it is only now that counts.

The fear and doubt you experience as you dream of walking away from a narcissistic relationship is normal and understandable.

The emotional abuse and debilitating fear you have endured cannot simply be wiped away. Your mind and body have learned to survive in an environment where you may constantly have questioned yourself, your decisions and even your own reality.

One of the first things to accept is this:

You can be kind and patient with yourself.

Often, we feel unsafe because we have become our own harshest critics.

We don't allow ourselves the slightest misstep. We hold ourselves accountable to standards far higher than those we expect from others. We believe we should know better, do better and cope better.

And what happens?

The abuse continues - but now, we are creating some of it ourselves.

The voice of the narcissist can become the voice inside our own head.

So today, practise something different.

Be kind to yourself.

Be patient with yourself.

It is almost as though you are learning a new language.

Allow yourself time to become comfortable with kindness.

Be open to receiving it.

And while you are learning, you can become your own teacher, best friend and support.

You may no longer feel comfortable when people are kind to you.

You may question it.

You may distrust it.

You may wonder what they want in return.

But kindness is not something you have to earn.

You deserve kindness.

You deserve patience.

You deserve gentleness.

And perhaps today, you can begin to own that truth.

You don't have to get everything right.

You only have to do your best today.

Master your Beliefs.

Master your Future.
