Walking for Water
Everyone is welcome to join the Walking for Water hike around the village, together with the Stanford Striders and Grades 5s and 6s from Okkie Smuts and Die Bron. We will be leaving from Castle Herriot, corner of Longmarket and Adderley Streets picking up the children from Okkie Smuts and then Die Bron, doing a loop in Stanford South, then past the Willem Appel Dam to take the children back to their schools.

If you have a flag or a banner or anything that you would like to use to express your concerns about the plight of the waterless, please wear/ bring it along. Also, please carry 2 litres of water with you on the walk to show your empathy for the women and children who have to walk miles with more than 5 litres on their backs in order to keep their families supplied.

Fire Fighters Family Fun Day
Birkenhead Brewery
This is an event to say thank you event to the volunteers who fight our fires when we need them most. The event is fully sponsored for the VIP guests who are the fire fighters and their families, already identified by Overstrand Fire and Rescue. The community, farms, estates, and businesses from Stanford and surrounding areas as far as Gansbaai and Hemel-en-Aarde Valley have joined together to treat these brave men and women with food, drinks, music and kiddies entertainment. The event is open to the public but at normal prices, so join in and show your gratitude.

We offer tagliatelle, tagliolini, gnocchi, lasagne, melanzane parmigianal based on our family recipes. We are open every day from 10:00 – 17:00 and every Saturday, we are open from 19:30 for a special Italian dinner from our a la carte menu.

The month of May is for spoiling Mothers at Manor House restaurant. The new menu includes delights like Leek and watercress soup, Cock au vin blanc with mushrooms & creamy leek risotto and Slow braised oxtail with creamy mashed potatoes. Enjoy upmarket country cuisine, prepared by renowned chef Madre Malan and her team. The restaurant is complemented by art exhibitions and beautiful views of the Akkedisberg Mountains. Also open for group bookings (minimum 15) any other day of the week. You are welcome to just show up on our doorstep, we’ll always be happy to see you!

Mosaic Lagoon Cafe - 1892 Spookhuis

The smoker is finished, the grill is fired up and Mosaic has a whole new menu! It’s everything Southern Style - BBQ recipes inspired from Tennessee and Texas (pulled pork, beef brisket and chicken - menu changes), mixed with spices and homemade bread from Southern Africa. Vegetables are gathered daily from Mosaic’s organic garden and roasted or put into salads. The yummy cheese and meat platters and desserts are still on the menu.
