Loneliness, guilt, fear of exclusion or missing out has the potential to keep you too long in abusive relationships.
Abusive relationships are not only on the extremes.
The friend who always has a panic that you need to help with.
Friends who always look for someone to listen to all their problems.
Friends who are eager to accept what you offer but never reciprocate.
All of these can become abusive relationships.
You deny yourself to stay in those relationships. You compromise all the time to accommodate the friend.
But what do you want from a relationship - romantic or platonic?
As long as you are not clear on what you expect in a relationship, and that includes you, you are likely to be disappointed and find frustration.
