Danger Point on the Cape South Coasts’ geographical location, between Cape Town and Cape Infanta, places it in the heart of the Overberg's wine, agricultural and Fynbos region. This beautiful but treacherous peninsula lies on the southern point of Walker Bay just outside Gansbaai and is noted in maritime history as the place where HMS Birkenhead met her fate in1852. The Danger Point Lighthouse stands sentry over the bay, ready to warn mariners to steer clear of the rocky point in stormy and misty weather.
