Danger Point just outside Gansbaai has a rich history that dates back a few hundred years. Previously known as one of the world’s most dangerous peninsulas said to be the location of the first sighting of the Flying Dutchman.

Danger Point is most notorious for the floundering of the HMS Birkenhead. The Danger Point Peninsula is now home to a select few accommodation options that range from luxurious self-catering homes to cosy B&Bs.
