Tucked away in the beautiful countryside near Baardskeerdersbos, the little stone-built hall at De Kleine Akker at Akkersdrift Farm turned out to be the ideal setting for their special day. The couple tied the knot at the historic Baardskeerdersbos NG Church, just 20km away, before heading back to the venue to celebrate with their closest family and friends.
A Cosy, Romantic Farm Venue
From the moment you arrive, De Kleine Akker feels warm and welcoming. The stone hall has beautiful warm undertones and lovely wood features that create a naturally romantic atmosphere. It comfortably seats up to 50 guests, making it perfect for intimate weddings where you really want to connect with every person there.
The venue also offers a charming cottage, called Sielsalig, for the bridal party to get ready, giving the bride and her girls a relaxed, private space on the big day. Inside the venue, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and an indoor braai area, which makes serving heartfelt, home-style food easy and enjoyable. Everything feels personal and down-to-earth.
Farm Life at Its Best
What makes De Kleine Akker extra special is its authentic farm setting. This is a working farm with animals roaming around, giving the day a genuine farm-themed wedding feel. Tall trees surround the venue, creating the most beautiful dappled light, especially magical when the sun starts to set and bathes everything in that soft, golden glow. Another lovely touch? They grow fynbos right on the property. Carika was able to pick the most perfect, fresh bouquet without ever leaving the venue.
