Grootbos Students Gain Workplace Experience

This short and sweet update begins with exciting practical workplace experience for the students on the Horticulture Skills programme as well as those on the Hospitality Skills programme. Half of the horticulture students spent the whole week working at the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, where they were able to put their skills to the test as a respected, skilled team. From propagation of plants to landscaping and separating aloes, being immersed independently in a real workplace gives them an opportunity to experience a full working week.

This team was confident and knew exactly what to do in the work environment of a botanical garden. What an empowering experience this was for these young men. It is an honour that the Grootbos Foundation student group is trusted to work at Harold Porter; it is also an honour for the students to experience this skill immersion.
