Last Hike of 2024

Our final hike for 2024 took us from Storm Street in De Kelders to the Harbour in Gansbaai. After some worries about the weather, the day turned out perfect with a cool breeze and clear views of the sparkling sea.

• A whale made a short appearance before disappearing.
• The kids had fun spotting koggelmanders until they lost count.
• Rock rabbits watched us curiously - until a surprise dog scattered them!

We stopped at Stanford’s Cove for snacks before ending at the Birkenhead Boat Club, where we enjoyed boerie rolls (thanks to Braaimeester Eben), tasty salads from our members, and delicious cakes baked by Almarie for December birthdays.

Our founding member, Dave Privett, shared a short speech about the Club’s journey, and we wrapped up with goodbyes and warm wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

Thank you to everyone for a great 2024! Here’s to more hikes in 2025!
