Having much fun with the S30 Pro, but these early mornings are killing me, especially when there's a morning trail. Here's one hour of data on Comet McNaught, spent 10 minutes on the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), as it was so low above the horizon, just above the treeline.
This was followed by 50 minutes on the Horsehead Nebula and surrounds. All with the S30 Pro on EQ mode and 60-second exposures (19/08/26).
Southern Cape Astronomy Club meets at least once a month for stargazing or observation evenings close to new Moon or during astronomical related events. The well-established club is based in Pearly Beach just outside Gansbaai.
