Hierdie is 'n tydelike reëling.

Vir meer inligting kontak Glenda Kitley, Bestuurder: Gansbaai Toerisme by 072 291 5564.

Good news! Visit the Danger Point Lighthouse

The grounds of the Danger Point Lighthouse will be open to the public on Sat 30th April; Sunday 1 May and Monday 2 May from 10h00-15h00. At this stage there will be no access allowed to the top of the Danger Point Lighthouse, only the bottom of the tower will be accessible. (This is a temporary arrangement which will become permanent once the MOU and other relevant administrative matters are finalized between Transnet National Ports Authority, to whom the property belongs, the Overstrand Municipality and Gansbaai Tourism)

The members of the Friends of the Lighthouse Committee will be on hand to share relevant information and there will be an opportunity for plenty of photos.

Photo Competition

Photos taken on these three days can be entered into a competition. All you have to do is post the photo of the Danger Point Lighthouse / Birkenhead Memorial / View across the sea - on the Gansbaai Tourism Facebook page/tag @gansbaaitourism. Prizes include - a voucher for Breakfast for 2; one for coffee and cake for 2 - at Rosemary Country Kitchen.

The above arrangement is made possible by a verbal agreement between the executive director of Lighthouse Navigational Services; Mayor Annelie Rabie, Councillor Riana de Coning, Overstrand Municipality; Glenda Kitley of Gansbaai Tourism and Barnie Germishuys (ex-Operational Manager Lighthouse Services).

For more information contact Glenda Kitley, Manager: Gansbaai Tourism at 072 291 5564.
