Best Wildlife Conservation

Marine Dynamics and Dyer Island Cruises, both Fair Trade certified, have since 2005 been making great strides in taking what could just be a commercial business and making a difference in terms of research, conservation and education together with the Dyer Island Conservation Trust.

Our key work includes:

• The endangered African Penguin housing project
• Shark population study through fin identification – first published study of its kind in South Africa
• Tagging and tracking of great whites to understand their behaviour in relation to environmental parameters
• Fishing line bin project addressing marine pollution

Our latest project is of key importance to the area in terms on conservation and will ultimately benefit tourism:

• The African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary - APSS
