This morning the sea was flat as we headed out to our dive-site in The Shallows. We soon arrived and our crew placed the cage in the water and guests jumped into their wetsuits. We had to wait a short bit, but soon the Copper sharks arrived. While they showed our divers a fantastic time, we realised they were a bit more sluggish than usual. So we checked the water temperature and realised it was around the lower ranges to what these animals prefer. And because they're cold-blooded creatures, their activity is closely related to their preferred water temperature. Regardless of this, our guests had an amazing time on the boat. Soon we headed back to shore, where our guests finished the trip with some hot soup and homemade bread.
For our second trip of the day, we headed straight back to the shallows. We got our guests geared up, but it appeared that the copper sharks were a little slow this morning. So we quickly changed our anchor site. After moving it didn't take too long to get our first shark. Activity started a little slowly, but it soon picked up, with some super close passes from some large 3m copper sharks. We had a couple of young kids on board this morning, and they thoroughly enjoyed witnessing this stunning shark species! With activity remaining good through the trip, some of our divers even got the opportunity to get up close with the sharks again! Much to their delight. With a successful trip under our belts, we headed back to the harbour!
