Efflorescence 101: Causes and Solutions
Efflorescence 101: A loose white powder or feathery crystals that show up on brick surfaces due to water, salts and chemicals leach out from the substrate.
Here's how you can deal with it:
1. How to remove it: Wash the surface using Spirits of Salts diluted 1:10 with water and scrub the surface using a nylon brush.
2. Naturalize the acid: Use Prominent General Purpose Cleaner diluted 1:10 with water and scrub the surface, then rinse with clean water and allow the surface to dry.
3. Seal the Deal: Apply our water-repellent sealer, Prominent Surface Sealer, for long-term protection.
