Experience the thrill of the world’s longest zipline near Caledon in the Overberg: 3.2 km of heart-pounding excitement, with speeds reaching up to 120 km/h!

Introducing SA Forest Adventure’s latest addition to its adrenaline activities… K3!

Zipping into the record books, K3 surpasses the 2.8 km Jebel Jais Flight in the United Arab Emirates by an incredible 400 metres.

A Welcome Boost for the Caledon Community

At the grand opening, Western Cape Minister of Agriculture, Economic Development, and Tourism, Dr Ivan Meyer, hailed K3 as a major economic boost for the Caledon community and Overberg tourism.

SA Forest Adventures takes pride in employing a team composed entirely of residents from Caledon and Myddleton.

The Scenic Journey to Discovering K3

Clinton Lerm, owner of SA Forest Adventures, says the idea for K3 began eight years ago, with planning starting five years later. On his way to scout a potential site, Clinton passed a beautiful mountain range near Caledon. He stopped, spoke with the farm owner, and immediately decided it was the perfect location for K3.

Why the name K3? Clinton explains that K1 refers to Mount Everest, K2 is the second-highest mountain in the world, and K3 is now the world’s longest zipline.

Building the 3.2-kilometre zipline was no small feat. It required a helicopter and a dedicated team to install the cable along the rugged mountainside.

The starting platform, aptly named The Nest, was built into the mountain without disrupting its natural beauty. Staying proudly South African, 90% of the building materials were sourced locally.

An Adventure Like No Other

Your K3 experience begins with a thrilling 7 km 4x4 tractor ride that climbs 500 metres up a private mountain trail to The Nest. The hour-long journey offers breathtaking views of the valley and is a must for every adventure-seeker’s bucket list!

Safety First: World-Class Standards

For peace of mind, SA Forest Adventures brought in external specialists and engineers to ensure the zipline is safe for public use. Additionally, all guides are thoroughly trained and assist guests throughout the journey. Each flyer receives a comprehensive safety briefing and expert guidance before embarking on this exhilarating adventure.
