Heritage Through Music
South Africa dedicates the entire month of September to Heritage and proclaimed the 24 September as Heritage Day.
Since the beginning of time, music and dancing have played a vital role in people's ability to communicate and celebrate events, with an array of sounds announcing important ceremonies.
The Caledon Museum will be celebrating our Heritage through music throughout September 2022. The Heritage through Music Community Project seeks to foster, promote and entrench Caledonian consciousness, social cohesion, community building and patriotism within all Caledon citizens by sharing their heritage through music.
You are hereby cordially invited to submit any short (2-minute) video clip(s) of you and/or your organisation, during your practice session(s) of our live performance. All submitted materials will form part of a Heritage Day compilation video(s) that will be posted on the Caledon Museum Facebook Pages on Heritage Day or during the month of September 2022 or posted individually.
Notes: If any person(s) require the Caledon Museum to come and record your music sessions, please feel free to contact us directly to schedule a date and time.
• Participants can use any instrument(s), perform any song (NB: Family Audience) acoustic audios are also welcomed
• Any and all submitted recordings must be recorded using an appropriate recording device with good audio and video capabilities.
Let us create a memorable experience by acting out our Heritage through music.
We can’t wait to see and listen to your heritage through music and would like to thank you in advance.
