‘n Perlemoenbaaier, Chad Kruger (17), is as Hoërskool Overberg se onderhoofseun vir 2014 aangewys. Chad se ouers is Sean en Maureen Kruger van Perlemoenbaai en sy ewe trotse grootouers is Herman en Maureen Taljaardt, ook van Perlemoenbaai. Chad is ‘n knap akademikus en is ook, saam met die res, by etlike skoolprojekte betrokke.

Gedurende 2012 was Chad ook bevoorreg gewees om as deel van ‘n groep uitruilstudente ‘n besoek van 3 weke aan die Staat Bavaria in die suide van Duitsland, naby aan die Oostenrykse grens, te bring. Die res van die verkose 2014-leiers van Hoërskool Overberg is Keanu Makka (hoofseun), Ronel Holtzhausen (hoofdogter) en Elani Matthee (onder-hoofdogter).
