Celebrating Mandela Day
On 18 July 2024, we celebrate Mandela Day in South Africa. Our Hospitality students spontaneously burst into song, singing our national anthem for Madiba's birthday - we thought you might enjoy some of their singing.
This year, to mark Mandela Day, each of the Foundation teams spent time in the communities served by their programmes. Over cups of coffee and slices of cake, they engaged in informal conversations, getting to know people and understanding their perspectives. Listening is key to genuinely serving a community, and the Grootbos Foundation welcomes community feedback.
Our Horticulture class took advantage of a sunny morning to practice some of their landscaping skills, which translate well into garden services.
