Celebrating Heritage Day at the Great White House
Heritage Day in South Africa is a special time to honour the rich cultural diversity that shapes our nation. It’s a day to reflect on the traditions, stories, and creativity that connect us all.
At the Great White House, we are proud to support local artisans and their handmade crafts. Our curio shop is home to unique pieces that carry both beauty and meaning; from recycled paper bracelets and necklaces to colourful beaded jewellery. Reflecting the skill and imagination of the local creators while contributing to sustainable livelihoods.
This Heritage Day, we are thrilled to showcase a stunning beaded collar made by the talented iSipho Sam ladies. Their work embodies tradition, craftsmanship, and empowerment, with every bead carefully placed to create a piece of wearable art.
By supporting these artisans, we offer our visitors more than just keepsakes, we provide a connection to South Africa’s living traditions, recognising the hands and hearts that bring our culture to life, and celebrating the stories woven into every creation.
