PBRPA September Committee Meeting Summary

The Pearly Beach Ratepayers’ Association (PBRPA) held its Management Committee meeting on 4 September 2025. Key updates included progress on local maintenance projects, membership challenges, and council matters affecting the community.

Key Points from the Meeting

• Opening: Chaired by Ald. Dudley Coetzee, prayer by Cllr Steven Fourie.

• Attendance: Present - Cllr Fourie, Ald. Coetzee, Jacques le Roux, Shirley Coetzee, Nelia Muller, Vivienne Burton-Moore. Apology - Wilma Brent.

• Previous Minutes: June 2025 minutes approved.

Infrastructure and Maintenance

• Plot Clearing: By-law changes allow owners to choose clearing methods. To be clarified at the next caucus.

• Drinking Fountain: Jacques to provide materials, municipality to assist.

• Painting of Whale and Info Board: Materials ordered; replacement board arranged by Wilma.

• Advertising Board: To be placed outside the Seeff Office.

• Street Map: Needs printing and laminating (Nelia to arrange).

• Deadline: Aim to complete projects before the November holiday season.

Other Issues

• Bottle Store: November council meeting to discuss Title Deed change. The municipality does not support the application. Associations encouraged to comment.

Finance and Membership

• Financial report attached (not included in this summary).

• Poor attendance at the August public meeting. Misconception persists that municipal rates include PBRPA subscription. Quarterly newsletter suggested for recruitment.

Ward Councillor Update

• Indigent funding is provided nationally, not municipally.

• Question raised on PB dam repair budget (R2.7 million considered excessive).

Building Plans

• No new houses approved in August.

• Alterations/additions approved for several erven in Pearly Beach Resort and Village.

General

• New sign to be made: “Please keep Pearly Beach clean.”
