Grootbos Foundation Teaches Life-Saving Water Skills

This week, Grootbos Foundation continued its life-changing water safety programme, giving staff and children the confidence and skills they need to stay safe in and around water.

It has been hot this week and while everyone has been alert and on the lookout for potential fire in the fynbos landscape, our sports coaches have grabbed a few sessions in the pool to give 6 staff and 11 staff children the gift of becoming water safe. Becoming water safe in a coastal region is not a luxury; it saves lives. Being able to give this life skill and confidence to the staff of Grootbos and their children - priceless!

Like Dory from Finding Nemo, they just have to keep swimming to master the skill and increase their confidence in water.

The children at the Butterfly Centre benefit from being water safe and they love the learning process in water.
