Why We Do Not Allow Balloons at Our Restaurant

At The Great White House, we are committed to protecting our beautiful coastal environment and the wildlife that calls it home.

While balloons may seem festive, they pose a serious threat to marine life when they escape into the environment. Sea turtles, seabirds, and other animals often mistake balloon fragments for food, which can be fatal. Balloon strings can also cause entanglement and injury.

As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, balloons are not permitted on our premises. We warmly encourage eco-friendly alternatives such as fabric bunting, flowers, or reusable decorations to help you celebrate special occasions responsibly.

Thank you for helping us protect the natural beauty of Gansbaai for generations to come.
