On the 5th of March Graeme de Bruyn, a motivational speaker from the Allan Grey Orbis Foundation, visited our school. Accompanying him were his right hand men, Simo Mpungose and Earl Abrahams. He met Simo (old Lions rugby player) at a workshop a few months ago and they immediately clicked, which goes to show the power of a great motivational speaker. Our workshop was centred on our perceptions of our self worth. We learnt how to deal with the stress of matric, while maintaining our self worth and self respect. We were also educated in how to lead ourselves and I think that all our matriculants now know that they are each the master of their own destiny. Later the afternoon Graeme and his team also had a session with the staff.
