”Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul." Plato

We thought you may like to hear how the children's performance at the Cape Town Jazzathon went last weekend.

It was amazing.
the children were magnificent.
and we are just so proud of them.

Some photographs and a video follow.

There are thank you's to make for the support we received in making the Die Kop Youth Group's outing very special and their performance with the Bottelary Blokfluit Blassers, a great success.

Thank you to Rotary Stanford for sponsoring the children's outfits, our thanks to Mr. Mike Gibbs (UK) and the Amani Harmonic Foundation (https://amaniharmonic.org/) for your continued support, to the Western Cape Department of Arts and Culture for supporting our Programme.

Our thanks to the Funimfundo Pre-Primary School (https://www.stanfordinfo.co.za/stmember/funimfundo-pre-school) for the lovely venue we practice in and to Vuyokazi Siza, for her guidance and mentorship.

Thank you to the Grootbos Foundation, for your continued support and for providing us with transport all the way to and from Cape Town (https://grootbosfoundation.org/).

We appreciate your kindness and generosity very much.

On stage in the Amphitheatre, Creative Skills Factory music programme mentor, Manuel Jardine, and our Die Kop Youth Group and the Manuel Jardine Arts Foundation children, the Bottelary Blokfluit Blassers.

The two groups of children were so brave, they played their recorders with grace and poise in front of hundreds of spectators in the Amphitheatre at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Many of these children have never had the opportunity to travel anywhere outside of their own community, let alone travel to Cape Town to perform at a national event like this.

This was a day that all of us will never forget.
