We kicked off the school holidays with an exciting arts and culture outing for our music and drama groups! The children attended a "Mini Festival" during the FynArts Festival in Zwelihle, Hermanus. They enjoyed the SAfM Schools Choir Celebration, watching six primary school choirs sing beautifully, and enjoyed various dance and drama performances.

Regina, Vuyokazi Siza, our Choir and Music Facilitator, and Drama teacher Raine Waring accompanied eighteen children on this delightful outing. The sunny and warm weather was perfect for a beach picnic and a fun swim in the sea before returning to Stanford.

At the Learning Tree, our team offered a colourful and creative holiday program for Stanford community children, featuring a variety of activities - crafts, literacy, movement, art, and play. Each day included a warm meal, lovingly prepared by our team. We extend our gratitude to Rotary for the ingredients for our delicious winter soup and stew and to the Grootbos Foundation for their food support.

In our previous newsletter, we shared the success of STAR Search and the talented youth in the Overstrand. We're thrilled to announce that the young finalists - Zwelihle Young Brothers, Nolundi Nonono, Lissa Nellz, and DJ Dego - performed at the annual Hermanus FynArts Festival in June. Their performance was a hit and even featured in the local newspaper.

You can watch videos of the Zwelihle Young Brothers, Nolundi Nonono, and Lissa Nellz singing at the FynArts Festival, with DJ Dego on sound here and here. These talented youth will perform again at the KalfieFees in Hermanus next month:

• 3rd August 2024 at 6pm - Waldorf School
• 7th August 2024 at 6pm - Whale Coast Theatre
• 10th August 2024 at 6pm - Hawston Secondary School
• 11th August 2024 at 12:30pm - Whale Coast Theatre

Join us at these concerts to enjoy their beautiful melodies.

That's all for now, but there's so much more we can share with you. If you're interested in reading our report on the first half of this year, please email Regina, and we'll happily send it to you.

Until next time,
Warm wishes from all of us at Creative Skills Factory NPC.
