What is the 'Ons Dorp Projek'?
The 'Ons Dorp Projek' is a community-driven initiative focused on transforming the town's public spaces by planting trees, flowers, and shrubs along the streets. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of Gansbaai but also promotes environmental sustainability and a stronger sense of community.
How Can You Help?
Donate Plants
The project is in need of a variety of plants to bring this vision to life. Whether you have extra plants in your garden or are willing to purchase some, every contribution counts. Here’s what is needed:
Trees: Indigenous trees that are suitable for the climate and soil.
Flowers: Perennials and annuals that can thrive in public spaces.
Shrubs: Low-maintenance shrubs that add structure and beauty to the streets.
Any Other Plants: Any plants you can give are welcome. They can be donated directly from your garden or purchased at Plaaslik and given to the 'Ons Dorp Projek'.
Get Involved
Apart from donations, volunteers who are passionate about gardening and community service are also welcome. Join in for planting days, help with maintenance, or spread the word about the project. Your time and effort are incredibly valuable.
