Safe Spaces. Happy Faces.
At Grootbos Foundation, we believe every child deserves a safe and fun place to be after school and during the holidays.
From sports and games to table tennis and chess, our programmes keep young minds active and full of joy.
It's more than just play, it's a place to belong.
Grootbos Foundation has been running chess clubs in the primary schools of Stanford and the Masakhane Hub over the last term. Today, the chess clubs of EduDen and Okkie Smuts battled it out in the beautiful building in Queen Victoria Street, home of the Chelsea Flower exhibit.

Chess Coach De Wet has been teaching these children the art of war over a chessboard.
Grootbos Foundation provides safe places for children to hang out after school and during holidays. From sports and games, to table tennis and chess, there are many different activities that capture the vitality, imagination and energy of young people.
