Medical Centre Timeline Adjusted to Ensure Full Service Launch
Cape Ethical Organics, the primary investor in the Overstrand Medical Centre, has announced a strategic adjustment to the project timeline. According to a media statement released yesterday by Dr. Pierre Nel, head of Cape Ethical Organics, the revised schedule is considered the most effective way to ensure the smooth implementation and operation of this much-needed healthcare facility.
The decision follows a series of stakeholder meetings involving the project teams and the Department of Health. In May this year, the teams presented detailed feedback on all aspects of the development to Cape Ethical Organics. Further discussions with the Department of Health focused on necessary approvals, operational readiness, and meeting the needs of the local community.
As a result, investors have decided to extend the construction period to allow for the simultaneous completion of all medical components, including radiology and the pharmacy. This approach aims to ensure that the centre is fully equipped and functional from the outset.
The Overstrand Medical Centre will ultimately provide a range of critical services, including a day hospital, emergency unit, radiology, dialysis, and other essential medical facilities. Cape Ethical Organics remains committed to making a lasting, positive impact in communities throughout the Western Cape.
