Grootbos Sports Talk: Changing Young Lives

Grootbos Foundation's Sundowner Sessions are an opportunity to share stories, experience and expertise from all aspects of Grootbos Foundation's work. Please join us for our first Sports talk, with Sports Development manager Natasha Bredekamp. Did you know that Sakhe (14 years old) from the Stanford Canoe Club and supported by Grootbos Foundation, won 5 medals at the South African sprints regatta in 2026? Or that Qhama (19 years) was offered a scholarship to Glenwood High School in KZN thanks to his years of hockey training at Grootbos Foundation which gave him an opportunity to participate in Boland teams and opened doors to greater opportunities in education? Success through our programmes doesn't always look like medals and scholarships; sometimes it's as simple as a child knowing they have a safe place to spend their afternoons, or receive a meal.

Join us on Thursday, 30 April at 17:30 for a glass of wine and a chance to learn how sport can change young lives!

Entry: R100 donation. RSVP to penelope@grootbosfoundation.org before 29 April.
